Barton Sales Manager competed at this years Classic Cowes Week with regular helm Stuart Jardine and son Robbie aboard his Barton equipped X One Design Lonestar. This regatta has grown from strength to strength over the last 7 years and now boasts a larger fleet than the traditional Cowes Week held in August.

Racing was held over 5 days with a trophy race on the Monday and series racing Tuesday to Friday. 56 boats take a lot of race management organisation and this was exceptional, with great windward leeward courses with different configurations to keep competitors on their toes!

Stuart won the trophy race on Monday, then had a mixed bag of results in the series finishing 10th overall. With so many boats and a relatively short course it is essential to get a good, clear start yet not be over the line as overtaking opportunities are hard fought with just two laps. Stuart's twin brother Ado finished 5th overall and it is was great to see both men in their 82nd year lead the fleet with a 1,2 in Thursday's race 6.

Worthy winner was Paul Woodman and crew on X32 Ibex, their first major win, narrowly beating Alastair Ashford and crew on Foxglove, all down to the wire in the last race.
