Barton Marine’s new Carbon Fibre and Kevlar wear and protection pads and discs are available now in all good Chandleries throughout Europe and the USA.

Produced with a special high performance 3M pressure sensitive adhesive backing, the new wear pads show excellent resistance to edge lifting, immersion and exposure to salt water.

The pads and discs are flexible, can be cut to size and will conform to curved or flat surfaces, they are ideal for preventing blocks and lines from damaging the deck and gelcoat.

Scottish Series class winner Craig Latimer says ‘We tested the Carbon and Kevlar wear pads on our Brenta 24 ‘Wildebeest’ for the entire race season last year. Not only do they look good but they protected our gelcoat from the usual scuffs and wear. I highly recommend them and will be using them on my new boat this season!’

The rectangular wear pads are sold in pairs size 98 X 208 mm, and the 208mm discs are sold individually.

HOW TO FIT WEAR PADS AND DISCS

Ensure that the surface is perfectly clean; remove all traces of dirt, salt, moisture and grease. For rough surfaces, ie non slip deck surfaces, lightly sand the surface with sandpaper for better adhesion. Align the pad or disc and trim to size with scissors if necessary.  Press down firmly with a hard edged plastic tool which is the full width of the pad or disc to provide the necessary pressure at the point of lamination.
