The 157^th Annual Regatta of the Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club was held at the beginning of August with Barton Marine sponsoring the Guy Shackles Race held on Saturday 9th August.
Two glorious days of sun and steady breeze were the reward for Bay racing on Monday and Tuesday when it was encouraging to see 28 yachts across 5 classes, including a number of visiting boats, enjoying competitive sailing.

Heavy rain and a thunderstorm punctuated the second race on Wednesday before calmer conditions accompanied by variable light winds were prevalent on Thursday.

Throughout the rest of the week 2 races for each class of yacht were held each day.

The Barton prizes were awarded to ‘Aquaholic’ from the Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club and ‘Vision’ from the Scarborough Yacht Club.
