The Mini Transat fleet started its epic trans-ocean race on September 25th. 79 tiny 6.5 metre singlehanders departed from Charente Maritime in France to embark on a 4,200 mile route to Salvador de Bahia in Brazil, tackling the infamous Bay of Biscay and the Doldrums along the way.
Pip Hare, sponsored by Barton, is progressing well and her journey can be followed on her website www.pipoceanracing.com. The site includes links to her position in the fleet and all the necessary background needed to prepare Pip for her biggest challenge. Pip carries a number of Barton deck fittings, including K Cams, rope clutches and blocks. This Mini Transit has seen Pip fit additional Barton rope clutches as she was "so impressed by their holding power and performance". Go Pip, go!
