Equipped with Barton fittings, ‘Kite’ is a new 5.7m pocket cruiser from renowned UK designer Andrew Wolstenholme of Wolstenholme Yacht Design and boat builder Colin Henwood of Henwood & Dean.

Their design concept was for a day sailer with a small cabin for occasional nights aboard and one that can be easily towed by an ordinary family 1.8 litre car. They discussed the idea of a simple, flat bottomed sharpie that could be used as a joint boat to share with their growing families. All these thoughts and ideas were in the background as the boat design evolved. The boat needed to be attractive, with good sailing performance and cost effective to build, and she certainly is all that!

Fitting in nicely with her modern contemporary lines is a host of Barton fittings as specified by Andrew for their purposeful design and durability.

‘Kite’ is lovingly being sailed by Andrew and Colin and their families. Andrew and his daughter took part in the first English Raid in the Solent, UK, aboard ‘Kite’ last year. They entered alongside a group of like-minded day sailors from home and abroad to get out there and have some fun.
