We are proud to sponsor Steve Smith in his challenge to race his OCR1 dinghy around the UK in an attempt to set a record passenger time for a dinghy.

"Steve will put the fittings through the equivalent of several years use in a matter of days, which gives us the ideal platform to demonstrate the high quality and dependability of the Barton range," says Paul Botterill, Director, Barton Marine.

Steve, who is scheduled to depart in August, hopes to set a blistering pace and complete the task in 16 days, weather permitting.

The dinghy is equipped to sail through the night to enable Steve to sail extend hours when the conditions are right. The OCR1 is a new
dinghy, designed and built over the last four years by Steve Smith especially for this record attempt.

It will be completely fitted out with Barton deck gear.
